Nifty May futures at modest premium

The Nifty May 2018 futures traded at 10743.55, a small premium of 25.50 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 10718.05 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 6.80 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 4.96 lakh crore registered in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 21.30 points or 0.2% to settle at 10,718.05.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation, HDFC Bank, Century Textiles & Industries and HCL Technologies were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Kotak Mahindra Bank May 2018 futures traded at 1260, matching its spot closing price of 1260. Dewan Housing Finance Corporation May 2018 futures traded at 651.90, at a premium over spot closing of 647.

HDFC Bank May 2018 futures traded at 1973.80, at a premium over spot closing of 1969.55. Century Textiles & Industries May 2018 futures traded at 1145.20, near spot closing of 1145. HCL Technologies May 2018 futures traded at 1010.85, at a premium over spot closing of 1005.35.

The May 2018 F&O contracts expire on 31 May 2018.
