Market is seen opening higher tracking positive leads from the Asian market. Trading of Nifty 50 index futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could rise 27 points at the opening bell.

Overseas, Asian stocks edged higher as investors focused on a mix of ebbing geopolitical tensions, robust earnings and economic data. US stock benchmarks closed out little changed on Friday, 27 April 2018, as investors expressed muted enthusiasm following strong corporate results.

Closer home, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 759.21 crore on Friday, 27 April 2018, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 633.71 crore on Friday, 27 April 2018, as per provisional data.

Among corporate news, on a consolidated basis, Reliance Industries (RIL)'s net profit rose 17.46% to Rs 9459 crore on 37.83% increase in net sales to Rs 116915 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017. The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 27 April 2018.

HDFC and Kotak Mahindra Bank will announce Q4 results today, 30 April 2018.

The domestic market settled higher on Friday, 27 April 2018, due to firm global cues and strong buying in banking and capital goods shares. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 256.10 points or 0.74% to settle at 34,969.70. The Nifty 50 index rose 74.50 points or 0.70% to settle at 10,692.30.
