Nifty 50 ended the previous trade session 136 points away from its recent record high. The index witnessed its biggest single-day fall ever since the Lok Sabha election result day of June 4. Indian Residents Can Now Open Foreign Currency Accounts In GIFT City
Indian residents can now open foreign currency accounts in GIFT City and remit money for various purposes under the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).
The scheme allows individuals to send up to $250,000 abroad annually. Previously, LRS transfers to International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs) were restricted to investing in securities within IFSCs, excluding Indian companies, and paying education fees to foreign institutions within IFSCs.
Rs 2100 Crore Smart Meter Order: HPL Electric Shares Surge 13% Post Award
Shares of HPL Electric & Power Ltd. surged as much as 13% on Thursday after the company informed the exchanges of winning a Letter of Award for smart meters.
The order value is worth ₹2,100.71 crore, inclusive of taxes, HPL Electric said in an exchange filing. The order, for the supply of smart meters, was received from its regular leading customers.
