While the week gone by was a volatile one, this new truncated week is also likely to be filled with surprises.
Over the weekend, US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research alleged that market regulator SEBI’s reluctance to act against the Adani Group could be linked to its chief Madhabi Puri Buch having stakes in offshore funds associated with the company. In response, Buch labelled the claims ‘baseless’ and said they were an attempt at ‘character assassination’.
Shares of the most of Adani Group companies have recovered the losses they made after the first Hindenburg report in January 2023. However, the recent report will again put the group’s stocks in the spotlight this week.
Apart from this, REITs will also be in focus as the new report also claimed that SEBI’s regulations on REITs benefitted Backstone, which is the sponsor of three of the four listed REITs in India. Buch’s husband Dhaval Buch was a senior advisor at Blackstone.
Bharat Dynamics, 360 One WAM, Embassy Office Parks, MindspaceREIT, Nexus Select Trust, Jubilant Foodworks, Siemens, Honasa Consumer, Sun TV, Balkrishna Industries, Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy, ONGC, Shipping Corporation of India, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Metropolis Healthcare, IOL Chemicals, Metro Brands, are among the stocks in focus today.
